Yep, finally watched it. Heard a lot of good things. Turns out, they were a bit exaggerated. I mean, zombie culture has become a large part of our society, and it turns out that this is just a story about these particular people during the zombie apocalypse. Obviously, they all have different skills which turn out to be useful during the course of the show. There are power struggles, there are losses; but I think what this really goes to show is that you have to have some really likable characters. I mean, LOST did really well with both likable characters and interesting story points, but The Walking Dead is more of an exploration show. No "getting off the island", just "survival".
And I think what this all says is that the bar continues to be set higher and higher for TV shows. Granted, since I watched the first season, I feel like I have to keep watching. I guess they won this round.
