Dexter

Specifically, season 3.

SPOILERS BELOW!!!

You were warned. I watched the first 2 seasons on Instant Play, which was great as I'd watch about 3 a night. Unfortunately, Season 3 is not instant yet; ergo I got the discs one by one. Through the mail. The final disc for the season had the season finale on it. That's it. I felt ripped off. That's not really what this blog's about, though.

I was told by more than a few people that Season 3 was not as good as the first two. I didn't bump all the discs to the top of my list; I watched a few more scattered odds and ends first. Finally, it came time. I watched the first episode of the season, and I loved it! In it, Dexter finds out he's fathered a child. I can understand where the casual fan checks out here. Another "life-changing event" to try and work out in a sitcom. Well, not quite a sitcom.

As a serial killer who is bringing a life into the world, he starts thinking over all the things that make him what he is, and what things he'll have to do to fit in this new world view he's creating. That is where I identify. I'm a free spirit (not a serial killer) and having a kid really changes what you're striving for in any given situation, adds new responsibilities, and makes you do things you weren't sure you could or wanted to do. Those are the portions of Season 3 that I find amusing.

The real lesson is: Be very careful about who you listen to for movie/TV reviews.

The End of the World

Maybe it's just me, but unless there's a huge storm front of fiery doom tomorrow, I'm going to be depressed.

Really, though, the whole "thief in the night" thing seems to be lost on a lot of people. Between that, and the 70 AD theory which basically states that Jesus already came back, and is living here with us now, and our duty as Christians remains the same as it would whether we expected Him to come for all of us at once, or not.

If I am left behind, can I have your car?
